Pioneer Day helps visitors to step back to the “old days” in turn-of-the-century Florida. However,it doesn’t get oldwhen participating with Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation’s Riverbend Park.
On November 2nd, the Joseph P Cory Foundation participated for our 5thtime at this great event, opening our Gardens of Hope farmstead to hundreds of community families.
After participating in the many fun activities, animal exhibits, and down-home entertainment, we were present to guide attendees through our replete organic vegetable and herb garden, help pot seeds to take home, read stories, make lavender sachet bags, and more.
Gardens of Hope, the foundation’s signature program, educates students, families, and communities regarding the growing of your own food, nutrition, and sustainable garden practices, simple facts that have forgotten, but can easily be reestablished for a healthy lifestyle: mind, body, and spirit.
