MISSION AND VISION
The inception of the Joseph P Cory Foundation (JPCF)is an inspiration of love, celebrating the life and spirit of Joseph P. Cory, the Founder’s late husband. Its roots took hold, predicated on the belief; “Given the best education and tools, ones innate potential and desire to live a life of health and well-being, can become a reality”. To that end, the organization’s mission seeks to empower people and communities to achieve wellness and wellbeing through expertise, education and guidance.
PROGRAMS
Our programs motivate and cultivate a return to basics, and a tangible way to connect consciously with the resources that our planet Earth provides; reestablishing the balance that once was within and about us – restoring mind, body, and spirit.
- GARDENS OF HOPE, the foundation’s signature program, gifts recipients a target enriched environment for hands-on nutrition education, movement, and promotes leadership skills and peer collaboration. Garden grants provide opportunities for students/members of the community to utilize strategies that increase fruit and vegetable consumption, food literacy, and offers the availability, safety and convenience of fresh organic produce. Through nutrition education in the form of cooking, gardening and eating herbs/vegetables, advancements multiply in excess of learning from merely textbooks. Most notably, numerous studies substantiate that school gardens represent a unique opportunity to combat obesity and foster improved health, while cultivating an early appreciation for beneficial foods.
- HELIS™,Our HEalthy LIfestyle Symposium,showcases the best holistic professionals, products and services from South Florida and beyond, to educate and uplift the community in the name of universal wellness. Whether one is a seeker, new to holistic health, or a lifetime adaptor, we wish to bring attention to all the businesses, practitioners, and products that encourage, inspire, and support one on their journey.
- JOPCO™,Jointly Organized Professionals Collaborating Optimally; the foundation’s community alliance of wellbeing practitioners, specializing in holistic and integrated health. JOPCO offers collaborative meetings to address unique topics, a speakers bureau for free education, as well as a program for JPCF Ambassadors,who wish to forward on our mission and vision in the public sector.
- OLIVE™, An Online Lecture, Information, Video, and Educational library and resource center,providing a variety of instructive content. Subject matter addresses and demonstrates all aspects of healthy living,to help viewers better understand the who, what, and why of our minds, bodies, and spirit,offering suggestions through prevention and natural remedies.
