Nada Cory was honored to be the keynote speaker on June 11th, at the General Federal of Women’s Club (GFWC), Stuart, Florida. Within the club, sports an amazing group of teens, with whom Mrs. Cory had the pleasure to previously instructing at the Riverbend Park Garden of Hope.
These bright and engaging Juniorettes, the GFWC’s next generation of leaders, are community ambassadors, middle and high school aged girls, dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the life of others through volunteer service of arts, education, environment, civic outreach, and health/wellness. Their chosen 2022 topic focuses on the environment, a perfect opportunity to present “Gardening for Climate Change”. Over 50 attendees participated in a lively presentation and completed the lecture by receiving a project bag with handmade “seed bomb hearts”, so everyone could create a more sustainable Earth. That is exactly what they did, potted their “hearts” in biodegradable cups, they hand decorated and personalized. It will be fun to see how they grow!
The Joseph P Cory Foundation, with great surprise and gratitude, thanks GFWC and their Juniorettes for a generous donation that will enable another small Garden of Hope to be planted within the community. Growing it Forward, one seed at a time!
