Aiding and a”bedding*”!

Before and after says it all. On Saturday, October 15that Riverbend Park, the Joseph P Cory Foundation was blessed to host Fab & Fun Friends, a local women’s social group with a mission to make our community a better place. Our collaborative agenda on this day was to educate a group of foster children regarding gardening, which included a “Ready, Set, Grow” lesson, a hands-on planting, and a fun take home project.

We were lucky to dodge the morning deluge and complete our task. What was once *garden beds full of the summer’s wrath, is now a “garden of hope”, the promise of delicious vegetables and herbs. This teaching garden will host many other groups over the season and feed the at-risk community. We look forward to sharing our efforts with you on Pioneer Day, the morning of November 5th, as Riverbend Park puts on a wonderful turn of the century display of assorted activities, replicating what Florida living was like over a hundred years ago; stay tuned for the PR. The Joseph P Cory foundation will also be there at the homestead garden, offering education, tastings, and fun for the entire family.
