It is the month of April and Spring has taken “root”. The season when life shakes out of winter hibernation and things start to bloom. For those up North, it is quite noticeable, for us Southerners, it is a bit more subtle. Regardless, various Spring-cleaning rituals seem to be a natural turn of events for us all, and it doesn’t just affect the inside of your home.
Cleaning formalities are all about creating a space that powerfully supports your dreams. You weed out, polish things, add fresh light, and flood spaces with sensory greatness to create something wonderful. The energy you will invest in your garden is most often reflected in the way that it flourishes; as everything in life, the more weeding and feeding you do, the more your space will powerfully support your “garden” dreams. Will your garden this year be a source of beauty and inspiration, grace your table with an amazing bounty, or an Earth Day revelation as you support and sustain the environment?
On a personal note, April also is a month in my life of remembrance. Thoughts of my loved ones who passed on are surrounding me with warm feelings, and most strongly, my beloved husband Joe Cory. The life and teachings of this man inspired me to create the Joseph P Cory Foundation. For those of you who follow the foundation’s successes on social media or through our monthly newsletter, you can witness the work we do take hold each day.
In his honor, we resume our Annual Matching Funds Campaign. We cannot keep Gardens of Hope flourishing alone and we ask for your assistance. If you are inspired by our work and milestones, or agree educating students today, is key to a lifetime of healthier tomorrows, please answer this call to action in the many ways presented throughout this newsletter.
I thank you in advance for your attention and your part in “growing healthy lives, one seed at a time”.
Happy Earth Day – Happy Spring!
